About this tour

The Alba International White Truffle Fair opens on 10 October 2026 and closes on 6 December: nine weekends in which the centre of Alba becomes a market where truffles are weighed in front of you before you buy. Turin is seventy kilometres away, Milan a hundred and fifty, and on Fair days parking in town is a serious business.

We collect you at your hotel, the airport or the station, drop you at the edge of the old centre and stay at your disposal for the day. At six in the evening we drive back, with whatever you bought in the car and without the queue out of the car parks.

There is time for the World Truffle Market, for a look at the hills around the town and, if you book it in advance, for a hunt with a trifolao in the morning before the Fair fills up.

Itinerary

  1. Pickup in Turin or Milan 30 min

We collect you at your hotel, the airport or the station. From Turin we leave around eight, from Milan an hour earlier.

  2. Drive to Alba 2h

An hour and a half from Turin, two and a half from Milan. The last bends take you into the Langhe and the town appears below before you drop into it.

  3. The World White Truffle Market 2h 30min

The heart of the Fair: stalls of hunters and dealers, truffles weighed and certified on the spot, sensory analysis by the judges. The ticket is bought at the entrance.

  4. Lunch and the old town 2h

Alba during the Fair is full of cheese, hazelnut and wine stalls. We book the restaurant if you want one, otherwise you eat along the way like everybody else.

  5. One hill before heading back 1h

On the way home we climb to Barolo, La Morra or Grinzane Cavour: half an hour of hills at sunset, which in November is the part people remember.

  6. Drive back 2h

We take you back to where we started. Turin around seven in the evening, Milan around eight.

Good to know

  • The 2026 Fair runs from 10 October to 6 December and the World Market opens at weekends: the dates bookable here follow the official calendar.
  • November weekends are the busiest: we start early and arrive ahead of the crowd.
  • The price of truffle moves every week with the rain. Ask the price per gram before buying, everybody does.
  • Alba is cold and often foggy in the autumn: bring a jacket and closed shoes.
  • If you also want the truffle hunt in the morning, book it together with the day: it needs a hunter free and has to be fixed in advance.
  • Paid on the day, in cash, directly to the driver.

Pickup

We collect you at the address you give us in Turin or Milan: hotel, home, station or airport, including Caselle, Malpensa, Linate and Orio al Serio. For flights we track the flight number and wait at no extra cost if you land late. The drop-off is at the same address unless we agree otherwise before departure.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Fair ticket included?

No. The World Market has an entry ticket bought on site or online on the Fair's website. We drop you at the entrance and tell you which queue is moving.

Where does it start from?

Turin or Milan, including Caselle, Malpensa, Linate and Orio al Serio. Pick the variant when you book: it changes both the departure time and the price.

How long is the day?

About nine hours from Turin and eleven from Milan, door to door. The pace is comfortable: it leaves four or five full hours in Alba.

Can the truffle hunt be added?

Yes, and it is the combination we recommend. Into the wood early with the hunter, into the Fair after lunch when the market has thinned out. Book the two together.

Can I fly home with truffle?

Within the European Union yes, in hand luggage and sealed. For the United States and other countries the rules differ: ask at the stall, the Fair dealers know this better than we do.

from $705

Arriving by plane or train?

We also run private transfers from airports and stations. Door to door, on your schedule.
