About this tour

Vinum is the fair that opens spring in Alba: the streets of the old centre fill with stalls, the wines of the Langhe and the Roero are poured by the glass against a tasting card, and the growers stand behind the counter pouring them themselves. There is a lot of drinking and not much walking, which is exactly why a driver is worth having.

We collect you where you are staying, drop you at the entrance and stay at your disposal for the day. When you have had enough we take you back: nobody has to decide who drives.

If a whole day in town feels like too much, we break it with an hour in the hills, which in April are green and empty. The next edition is in spring 2027: as soon as the organisers publish the official calendar we confirm the exact weekends and adjust the booking with you.

Itinerary

  1. Pickup where you are staying 30 min

    We collect you in Alba, in the Langhe, or in the city if you are coming from Turin or Milan.

  2. Vinum: the stalls and the tasting card 3h

    Into the tasting route: a card of pours, the consortium stands, growers pouring their own wine. Ticket and card are bought at the entrance.

  3. A break and the old town 1h 30min

    Away from the stalls Alba is open: food shops, pastry shops, the cathedral square. We book the restaurant if you want one.

  4. An hour in the hills 1h

    Optional, and almost everybody takes it: up to La Morra or Barbaresco for half an hour of open air before heading back.

  5. Drive back 30 min

    We take you back to where you are staying, with whatever you bought in the boot.

  • The dates of the next edition are published by the organisers a few months ahead: booking here holds the driver, and we confirm the exact day together as soon as the calendar is out.
  • April weather turns quickly: a light jacket and comfortable shoes.
  • The fair is in the old centre and is walked entirely on cobbles.
  • From Turin or Milan we add the return transfer: ask for the price before confirming.
  • Paid on the day, in cash, directly to the driver.

If you would rather reach us in Alba, we wait in Piazza Michele Ferrero, on the arcade side. The driver holds a sign with your name and messages you on WhatsApp the evening before with the car model and plate.

Pickup

Pickup and drop-off are included in Alba, Barolo, La Morra, Monforte d'Alba, Barbaresco, Neive, Serralunga d'Alba and the farmhouses around them, including the ones at the end of the gravel roads where coaches cannot go. If you are staying in Turin, Milan or Genoa we add the return transfer: send us the address and we give you the exact price before you confirm.

Frequently asked questions

When does Vinum take place?

In spring, between late April and the first days of May, across several weekends. The dates of the next edition are published by the organisers a few months ahead: booking here holds the day, and we confirm the exact date as soon as the calendar is official.

Is the ticket included?

No. The ticket and the tasting card are bought at the entrance to the event. We drop you in front of it and point you at the desk.

Can it be done as a day trip from Turin or Milan?

Yes, by adding the return transfer. Turin is an hour and a half away, Milan two and a half.

How is it different from the Truffle Fair?

Vinum is the wine fair and it is a spring event; the International White Truffle Fair is in autumn, from 10 October to 6 December 2026. We run a separate day trip for that one, from Turin or Milan.
